Paper Acknowledgements

Through the years, the ISN has been supported through a number of different contracts and other funding vehicles. Each type of funding mechanism can require a different acknowledgement, possibly dictated by the sponsor, in publications derived from ISN research.

Traditionally, Core 6.1 research has been funded through a Cooperative Agreement (CA) or an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract.

Non-core research can be funded through direct contracts, Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), or other awards.

The required language for acknowledging ISN research support, including the use of equipment only without project funding, is provided below.

If there are any questions about which type of funding your project receives, please contact

Depending upon whether research made use of (a) ISN space and equipment in general, or (b) a particular piece of ISN equipment:

(a) "This research benefitted from facilities and equipment made available by the Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies, a U.S. Army-sponsored UARC at MIT."

(b) "This research benefitted from the use of a/an <equipment name> made available by the Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies, a U.S. Army-sponsored UARC at MIT."
