Partners

The ISN's mission is complex and difficult — and it won't be solved by cutting-edge science and engineering alone. MIT has relies on key partners that share not only a passion for the ISN mission but also a responsibility for achieving it.

U.S. Army

Army partners are vital to the ISN mission. They collaborate on basic and applied research, provide guidance on the Soldier relevancy of ISN projects, and participate in transitioning promising outcomes of ISN basic research.

The Air Force and Navy flight demonstration squadrons, the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels, fly over the Pentagon, May 2, 2020, as part of “America Strong,” a collaborative salute from the two services to honor health care workers, first responders, service members and other essential personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other U.S. Government and DoD

While the ISN’s first customer remains the Soldier, many research projects have broad appeal to not only other military services but also to various government agencies. The ISN has had significant interactions and collaborations with a number of the Army’s sister services and other U.S. government entities.

Industry

Industry partners are critical to the ISN mission, helping turn innovative results of basic research into real products and scaling their manufacture toward appropriate quantities. Membership in the ISN Industry program is open to companies who provide a critical core competency for ISN research and an appropriate level of cost-sharing.

World-class research. Cutting-edge technologies.
