John R. McConville serves as the Army Science and Technology Transition Officer and Army Liaison at the MIT Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies.  In this role, John seeks to operationalize collaborative nanotechnology focused science and technology discoveries to protect the Soldier and support the future Army.  

John has been awarded the Army Civilian Achievement Medal, the Army Civilian Commendation Medal, and two Navy Civilian Commendations.  

Prior to this assignment, John has served as a Navy Engineering Program Manager, a Navy Design Project Engineer and as a Navy Nuclear Engineer. John has also served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve.  

John graduated from Boston College with a Master’s degree and from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.  John has completed the Navy Civilian Nuclear Engineering program, the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Defense Technical Seminar, and the Army Management Staff College Civilian Senior Leader Advanced Course.
